Spooky Season, and Snotty Noses

October has officially rolled in, bringing with it the sweet chaos of impending toddler birthdays, Halloween excitement, and the undeniable reality of the daycare virus carousel.

If you’re looking for me, I’m probably running on a dangerous mix of espresso, dry shampoo, and pure survival instinct.

Between working full-time remotely and navigating the relentless loop of daycare sickness, life lately feels less like a cozy autumnal aesthetic and more like a high-stakes game of medical triage. One twin gets a mild sniffle, it morphs into a full-blown household plague, and just when everyone finally clears the quarantine, the cycle starts all over again. Trying to balance back-to-back meetings, insurance policies, and toddler coughs while wiping noses on a loop is an extreme sport nobody warns you about.

And yet, here we are- hurtling straight toward a massive milestone. The twins are about to turn two.

How did that happen? One minute we were figuring out newborn life, and the next, I’m planning a second birthday party while simultaneously hunting down cute, low-key Halloween costumes and wondering how to pull off a celebration when I can barely keep my eyes open past 8:00 PM.

Of course, the blog has taken a bit of a backseat while I’m in the trenches of motherhood and career mode, but finding little pockets to write -or just venting to the void- keeps me grounded. We’ve got pumpkins to carve (or let’s be honest, just leave on the porch until they decompose), tiny shoes to trip over, and a whole lot of coffee to brew.

To every other working mom out there currently trapped in the endless daycare virus loop: I see you, I am you, and may the caffeine be ever in your favor this week.

My sister is currently on the journey to find a living liver donor, and we are holding onto so much hope. If you’ve ever considered what it means to truly give the gift of life—or if you just want to read her story and share the page to help us spread the word—please take a moment to visit her donor page here. Your support, shares, and prayers mean the absolute world to our family.

If you find it in your heart to donate click here.
